Sketchy Saturday! After the month-long (or more) hiatus, it’s back and sketchier than ever. I actually have a sketch or two to post today, thanks to the Sparks. Here’s one for you: Mini-ribbit
It may not be immediately evident but that is a tiny frog. There are three of these [...] … is one of the hardest things to do. OK, scratch that. Doing things imperfectly without beating yourself up for it is one of the hardest things to do. I haven’t done any serious oil painting in about a year. And yet, when I sit down to paint something, I immediately want a masterpiece. [...] For some reason, November has become the month to work on creative projects. I don’t know why this is, but I’m not complaining. If you’re itching to get some progress made on your project, why not set some creative goals for this upcoming month? There are loads of ways to give yourself some structure [...] Whew! Where I live, there’s only an hour left to Sunday. So I just made it. And although last time I said I’d never get this post up in time for Saturday, and in fact am 100% right about that, nobody ended up betting me any Cheetos. Which I suppose is just as well. [...] What does your morning routine look like? I’ll tell you what mine used to be. I would stumble from my bed and the first thing I’d do was turn on the computer. Then, as it booted, I’d fix myself a tea or coffee. I’d sit down and immediately check my email while getting my [...] When I was growing up, I used to frequent a little shop not too far from my neighborhood. It sold educational supplies for teachers: workbooks, posters, flash cards for learning multiplication and the like. And it had a sticker section. At the time, I thought it might be fun to be a teacher when [...] When you read this post, I’ll be on vacation. Somewhere far, far away, where Internet access is something of a miracle. And that’s the only reason I can make this confession. Gulp. Here goes: Resistance! I have it. Some background. I’ve always thought of myself as a painter. I was either 10 or 11 [...] You may have been highly distressed by the fact that possibly noticed that a couple weeks have passed since my last post. Oh yes, friends, I’ve been up to stuff. I wish I could say that I was busy doing wild and crazy creative things the entire time. Or at least say that I [...] I wish I could say that I’ve been hard at work on my current Art Project of Excitement. Truth be told, all I can really say is that it’s been progressing, slowly. At least my mind has been hard at work on it. On the other hand, it has been between 93 and 100 [...] Lately I’ve really been craving some color. Maybe it’s all the graphite and ink drawings I’d been doing. Or maybe it’s the sudden abundance of summery fruit around here. Anyway, today while I was working we had yet another crazy thunderstorm.
