My head has been filled with a lot of nonsense lately. A lot of confusion and shaky ideas. I’m not sure what it was all about, but I do have something of a remedy for it.
My current rule is: when in doubt, paint a tree.*
So I did.
And you know? I’m feeling a lot better already.
*If you’re guessing that I have a lot of tree paintings around the house, you, my friend, are correct.
COMMENTS: It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’d love to hear about anything you’re working on.
If you’re currently confused or have been recently, you are welcome to join my club (we may end up having a treehouse).
Or if you feel inspired to say hello to my latest tree, I’m sure it would appreciate that too.

I love your tree. (Even at tiny size the strokes are very interesting.) I think if in doubt, paint a tree is a wonderful philosophy.
And, I want a treehouse. A real one, that I can live in, sometimes. Maybe one day I’ll have a studio in a tree. (I’m pretty grateful for the space I have, but it’s fun, sometimes, to imagine other spaces. An Airstream trailer is another fantasy.)
Much love and art supplies to you, Sarah!
Hey Lisa! I had to re-approve you as a commenter because you have a new (to my blog) site! PSST, everyone go check out Lisa’s lovely new site, by the way.
And if you want to drool over treehouses I recommend looking at this book. Wah, I want them all! Though I am terrible at tree-climbing and afraid of heights. Still want them.
Someday I will build the Treehouse for Arties and you will all be invited. There will be art supplies aplenty. No tree-climbing skills required.
Hello tree! You are adorable!
When I’m in doubt I try to sit under a tree.
Hey Andrea! It’s lovely to see your face around here. My tree is waving hi, in a sort of tree-ish kind of way.
Hello, lovely tree!
I don’t feel confused as much as overwhelmed these days, though those are often walking hand in hand: when there’s so much to do, it’s easy for confusion to come play the “what do I start with?” game… I’m totally going to give your “when in doubt, paint a tree” rule a try: I’m sure it’ll help!
Love and covet your tree. Is it possible to acquire one some day?
Hello tree! Lovely painting, I love trees
what a gorgeous painting!
