So if you’ve ever spent some time in Florence from, say, March to October, you will know that it is plagued by mosquitoes. They keep you up at night with their incessant whine. They make you cover your entire body with sheets, head included, despite the 95-degree weather. They wait to ambush you as [...] Listen, I have to tell you something. I think you should shower more often. Not because you’re stinky. Although yeah, that too.* Actually, it’s because it seems that people tend to get brilliant ideas in the shower. Have you noticed that? It works for me, too. In fact, last night I had three ideas [...] After yesterday’s turtle incense dude, I felt compelled to sketch one of his friends. This tiny glass frog also hangs out in my workspace. I have no idea how long I’ve had him – 15 years? I was mildly obsessed with frogs in high school. You can’t tell from this drawing, but he’s green [...] Just felt like sketching the little incense dude that hangs out with me in my workspace. He’s one of the several little ceramic creatures that hang out with me, but he’s the only one that holds incense. And I think he’s a turtle. Right? I don’t remember where he came from, but I’m guessing [...] Some days, the frustration of modern living is more than I can bear. Wow, doesn’t that sound dramatic? But it’s kinda true. Everyone has days when it seems like the Project isn’t worth it. Or days when the Project just looks too hard or too unlikely. These days, I have been juggling some bureaucratic [...] Dear Recent Weather, We have noticed that it has been especially cold, dark and rainy since October of last year. This means that we have had over 7 months of crappy weather to date.
